Mr. Goldin joined Alterna in 2011. While at Alterna, Mr. Goldin has focused his efforts on deal sourcing and structuring of aviation, high yield shipping debt and structured investments. His efforts led to the creation of Alterna’s GMTC shipping debt business, which in turn, led to the creation of the Shipping Loan Platform. Earle has spent more than 17 years in investment banking and private equity with a primary focus in Core Capital Assets. Formerly a Managing Director in Citigroup's Core Capital Assets investment business, he was the European Regional Head for the group. Earle's roles included portfolio management and optimization, strategy and new business development, transaction sourcing and execution and management of a team of investment professionals. Earle has been involved in both debt and equity capital market transactions in excess of $6 billion. He received a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Information Systems from The University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
A co-founder of Alterna, Eric has over 30 years of experience investing in Core Capital Assets. Formerly a Managing Director in Citigroup's Core Capital Assets investment business, he was Head of Global Origination for the group. With responsibility for all rail equipment investments, he led the effort to grow rail investment to be one of the largest and most profitable bank-owned operating lessors in the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from SUNY Binghamton and an M.B.A. from Tulane University.
Harry has over 34 years of experience creating and managing investments in a broad range of Core Capital Assets. Prior to co-founding Alterna, he was the co-founder, Managing Director and Business Head of the Core Capital Assets investment business at Citigroup. From inception this business grew to over $2 billion of direct investment in assets with a market value exceeding $7 billion. Harry has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University
Mark is currently responsible for the origination, management and realization of Alterna’s aviation investments. Prior to this role, Mr. Satran managed Alterna’s pricing, structuring and analytics group. Before joining Alterna, Mark spent five years as a Director with Pitney Bowes Global Financial Services, where he was responsible for new product development, pricing and structuring of all financial services programs and analytical and reporting support for a business with $2.5 billion of assets. Previously, Mark was the Manager of Financial Structuring for GE Capital's Vendor Financial Services business, where he had responsibility for investment analysis for new third party vendor programs. From 1990 to 1997, Mark worked for Citicorp Global Equipment Finance, where he was responsible for originating new vendor programs and was a Product Development and Pricing Analyst.
Paul has over 30 years of finance and operations experience. Prior to joining Alterna, Paul spent 19 years at Citigroup, most recently as Executive Vice-President/ Controller of Citigroup's Commercial Business Group. Prior to joining Citigroup, Paul worked at the accounting firm of Arthur Young, where he was a senior auditor. Paul is a C.P.A. and C.M.A., and he holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York- Albany, and an M.B.A. from Fordham University, where he was awarded the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence.
During his time at Alterna, Mr. Miller has focused his efforts on the industrial sector, and secondary market transactions. Mr. Miller is a supervisory board member of Alterna’s investments in AMG Graphit Kropfmühl and a board member of Bogala Graphite. Additionally, Mr. Miller was the Managing Partner responsible for overseeing the compliance function of the Investment Manager. Roger has spent nearly 30 years in various facets of commercial banking and finance, with the last 20 years focused on structured financial products and Core Capital Asset investing. He has led and advised on transactions related to alternative energy, commercial aircraft, industrial facilities, portfolio acquisitions and mineral resource development. Prior to co-founding Alterna, Roger was a Managing Director in Citigroup's Core Capital Assets investment business responsible for strategic initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the Montana School of Mines and a M.B.A. from Cornell University.
Mr. Fritsch has been Alterna’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer since October 2015. In addition to being the lead attorney on numerous M&A transactions, financings and joint ventures throughout his career, Mr. Fritsch also has extensive experience working with various regulatory agencies and in compliance. Immediately prior to joining Alterna, Tom focused on M&A transactions at Boies, Schiller & Flexner. From 2002 to 2012, he served as the General Counsel of Smith Management and then as the General Counsel and a Partner of Plainfield Asset Management, a registered investment advisor that managed in excess of $5 billion, and was responsible for the full range of legal matters, including compliance, for these investment firms. Tom began his legal career as an associate of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. In addition to being the lead attorney on numerous M&A transactions, financings and joint ventures throughout his career, Tom also has extensive experience working with various regulatory agencies, including the SEC. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia College, a Master of Science in Accounting from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School.
During his time at Alterna, Mr. Patel has focused on the high yield maritime and energy markets including managing Alterna’s maritime lending platform. Samir has spent over eight years in private equity, venture capital and investment banking. Formerly, he worked at Victory Park Capital, an alternative investment firm, providing direct financing to lower middle market companies. Samir was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing and managing direct private debt and equity investments across various industries. During his tenure at Victory Park, he played a key role in developing the firm’s sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring processes. Samir also worked in the Restructuring Group at Lazard Frères. He received a B.S. in Finance and Accountancy from the University of Illinois.
Daane joined Alterna in 2014. At Alterna, Mr. Reinking is focused on the Energy/Power and Industrial/Natural Resource sectors. Prior to joining Alterna, Daane worked for Energy Corporation of America, an independent E&P company, where he sourced and negotiated midstream deals for FirstECA Midstream LLC, a joint venture with First Reserve. Daane also headed the engineering group responsible for designing and constructing the midstream assets. Daane holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business.
Nathan joined Alterna in 2016 with responsibilities ranging from new deal origination to the management of existing investments, with a focus on Alterna's aviation portfolio. Nathan has spent over seven years in the aircraft leasing and financing market, most recently based in London with the Deucalion Aviation Funds. At Deucalion, the equity investment team at DVB Bank SE, Nathan was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, executing and managing potential and existing aviation related assets including aircraft on lease, airframes, engines and aircraft disassembly transactions. Prior to DVB Bank SE, Nathan worked in the Risk Management team based in Dublin, Ireland at AWAS Aviation Capital, a top 10 global aircraft leasing firm. He received a B.S. in Finance and International Business from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Anne is both the Investor Relations Manager and Office Manager for Alterna. Prior to joining Alterna in 2009, Anne spent 25 years in the fashion and toy industries in product development, business planning projects, and sales and marketing management with major retailers and manufacturers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware in Communications and Public Relations.
James joined Alterna in 2017 with a focus on maritime investments, responsible for originating new and managing existing transactions. James has spent over five years in the shipping industry, most recently as Assistant Vice President at CIT Bank where he sourced, structured, and managed a portfolio of shipping loans and leases. Prior to assuming his role at CIT, James worked at Compass Maritime as a Sale & Purchase shipbroker and as the Director of Valuations. James began his career at Mediterranean Shipping Company's United States headquarters in New York City. Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in International Economics.
Brett joined Alterna in 2017 and his responsibilities include financial modeling, and valuation. Prior to joining Alterna, Brett worked in business strategy for an Education Academy in Beijing, China. Brett holds a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award for Service.
Zach joined Alterna in 2017 and has responsibilities including financial modeling, valuation, and investment due diligence. He was previously an Associate at Samadhi Partners, a long/short fund manager and equity research publisher. Zach holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University.
Nick has over 10 years of finance, accounting, and private equity experience. Prior to joining Alterna, Nick worked at Castleton Commodities International LLC where he was most recently a Vice-President in their Finance and Accounting Controllers’ Group. Previously he worked at Brookfield Property Group and Starwood Capital Group where he handled various fund accounting roles for their global private equity real estate funds. Nick began his career in public accounting where he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers auditing private equity and hedge funds. Nick is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, and he holds a Bachelor of Science from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Caroline Van Pelt
Previously Caroline worked at Lindsay Goldberg LLC where she was a fund accountant for their private equity funds. Caroline began her career in public accounting where she worked for RSM auditing private equity and hedge funds. Caroline is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, and holds a Master of Science in Accounting from James Madison University.
