Alterna Capital Partners Closes Initial Fund with $428 Million of Commitments
Alterna Core Capital Assets Fund, L.P. is positioned to be the pre-eminent fund focused exclusively on investing in Core Capital Assets.
Alterna Capital Partners (“Alterna”), a US-based private-equity firm that focuses on Core Capital Assets, today announced the successful close of its first private-equity fund, Alterna Core Capital Assets Fund, L.P., (“the Fund”). With commitments of $428 million, the Fund is focused exclusively on investing in Core Capital Assets, which are the long-lived, revenue generating, physical assets that are vital to the transportation, industrial and energy sectors.
Alterna originates transactions directly from users and manufacturers of Core Capital Assets, and acquires portfolios of these assets from institutional investors. A scarcity of traditional sources of capital, as well as changes in regulatory, tax and accounting rules impacting traditional equity providers, create an ideal investment environment. The Fund recently closed its first investment, the purchase of an undivided interest in the Springerville Power Generating Station located in Arizona.
“We are very grateful to our investors for supporting Alterna in a difficult fundraising environment.” said Roger Miller, Managing Partner. “As a result, the Fund is well positioned to take advantage of the current market opportunities. We look forward to successfully executing our investment strategy. C.P. Eaton Partners acted as placement agent for the Fund. We were very impressed by their market insight, investor relationships and commitment to our success.”
